William De Morgan’s career as designer, maker and purveyor of ceramic tiles was fostered by many architects in commissions both baronial and domestic, but ships? This presentation will begin by considering their use in interior schemes both for gentlemen’s yachts and sea-going liners before looking at more recent discoveries.

Until retirement, Dr Chris Jordan was the Keeper of the Southwark Art Collection and is now an independent curator and ceramics historian and Chairman of the Spode Society.
